Dietitian

Morgan is an experienced Accredited Practicing Dietitian & a passionate Team Leader at Optimum Intake Dietitians. She leads a team of 8 dietitians who work within aged care facilities helping individuals and assisting food service systems in providing excellence in nutrition care.
Morgan knew she wanted to become a dietitian when a family member encountered a close call with chronic disease. She truly understands the impact that chronic diseases can have on an individual and their families and decided to dedicate her career to helping others avoid a similar outcome. She became deeply engaged with the science of lifestyle interventions, behavior change, and the value of nutritious food in the management of chronic disease. Morgan completed her Bachelor of Nutrition & Dietetics (Honours) at The University of Newcastle in 2017 and commenced work with Optimum Intake Dietitians in 2019. She spent her first years as a dietitian working at John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle within foodservice and in medical clinics across the Hunter Valley & Newcastle, assisting individuals with chronic disease management.

Morgan’s experience working within food service at one of NSW’s largest hospitals has inspired her work today in Aged Care. She is passionate about improving food & nutrition in aged care with a wholistic approach, working with food service, catering, care staff and the individual consumer. She understands the value of nutritious, enjoyable food in aged care and how it can manage chronic diseases and prevent devastating conditions such as malnutrition, often leading to events such as falls, pressure injuries and hospitalisation.

Outside of being a dedicated Team Leader for Residential Aged Care, Morgan continues to assist individuals in managing chronic diseases. Her particular interest areas are women’s health conditions such as Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, Endometriosis, Gestational Diabetes, and chronic conditions such as Chronic Kidney Disease and Cardiovascular Disease. She provides a comprehensive assessment to get to know her client’s needs and goals, and works with them every step of the way, providing achievable and manageable strategies in managing chronic health conditions. Morgan practices within the Health At Every Size Paradigm, adopting a Non-Diet Approach to best assist her clients to focus on outcomes related to physical health, as well as mental health and emotional wellbeing.

Morgan is available for individual consultations at Wallsend, Tuggerah or online via Telehealth. She is available to provide support to Residential Aged Care Facilities and introduce our excellent services to improve nutrition care for older people. Morgan looks forward to assisting you in achieving optimal nutrition.
