Rebecca Sewter BN&D APD (Hons)

Rebecca is a compassionate member of Optimum Intake’s Community Aged Care team.
She is passionate about the role nutrition has on our physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. Rebecca enjoys building close connections with her clients, allowing her to develop a strong understanding of their lifestyle and deliver client-centred, practical changes towards better nutrition.
Rebecca is strong advocate for the role dietitians play in optimising nutrition and health in the elderly. She understands the importance of nutrition for meeting our physical and functional needs, as well as the valuable role food plays in enhancing quality of life. Rebecca enjoys working within a multidisciplinary team to support your health and nutrition goals, and to advocate for the role of food-based nutrition in medical care.
She delivers advice, assistance and support to individuals and their family/carers with home based personalised consultations. Creating specifically designed menu plans, useful shopping resources, meal planning and preparation, cooking strategies to optimise the nutritional quality of each meal and enhancing the mealtime experience to promote optimised intake. Through education, collaboration and in home service delivery, Rebecca provides individualised nutritional assessments, planning and recommendations. Offering advice to family and carers around feeding / drinking supports, convenience meal delivery options, supplement regimes and listening to the needs and practical issues of carers.
Rebecca is an Accredited Practising Dietitian and a member of Dietitian’s Australia, with a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics (Honours) from the University of Newcastle. She joined the Optimum Intake team in 2021.
Rebecca aims to provide evidence-based information in a simple, practical manner. She looks forward to supporting your journey towards optimal nutrition.
