Samantha Dietze is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian and a member of the Dietitians Association of Australia. She graduated with a Bachelor of Nutrition & Dietetics (Hons) from the University of Newcastle and commenced working with Optimum Intake Dietitians in 2019 Samantha enjoys all areas of Dietetics. She has 2 particular interest areas, the first being working with people who have a disabilty and the second being helping women during their fertility and pregnancy journey.

Sam’s particular interest in working with people living with a disability is offering a person-centred focus in supporting clients with cognitive, physical, sensory, neurological and intellectual limitations under the NDIS.  Samantha enjoys developing practical resources and tools to assist with eating, feeding and cooking including portion tools and meal time feeding resources, shopping tours, food safe handling, enhanced recipe and meal development. Samantha utilises her skills in the kitchen and her sound nutrition based knowledge to also help our ageing population remain independent in their own homes by delivering her nutritional interventions via home based dietetic services.  She enjoys providing tailored nutritional advice to meet client’s health goals and promote long-term sustainable changes.

For her fertility and pregnancy clients she is involved in providing nutrition support for a successful pregnancy and help with breastfeeding post birth. Sam offers nutritional support not only for the woman but also offers couples consultations to help support the male and female with fertility. Topics she can assist with include: Pre-conception nutrition, Healthy eating for pregnancy, hormone issues, gestational diabetes, poly cystic ovarian syndrome, weight concerns, nutritional supplements and breastfeeding. All of Samantha’s support is specifically tailored to the individual’s needs using researched based dietary advice.

Samantha grew up on the Central Coast and spent a lot of time in the Newcastle area, as a result, she is truly invested in the local community and its people. She is passionate about building a vibrant community through promoting and enhancing the health and wellbeing of people in an inclusive and respectful environment.
