Uki Chan BAppSc(Ex&SpSc), MNutrDiet, APD

Uki is a warm and bubbly member of the Central Coast Residential Aged Care Team who is passionate about reconnecting older Australians with the joys of food. She is particularly interested in improving the food service scene in aged care facilities whilst optimising their nutrition care. Uki acknowledges the wide range of different factors that can affect food intake in this group and is dedicated to improving the mealtime experience for holistic well-being.

She recognises the connection food has to all domains of health and is a strong advocate for the enjoyment of food. She takes a collaborative approach to ensure strategies are practical and individualised, understanding that the best results come from partnerships with all those involved including the individual, families and carers, chefs, food service and care staff. She focuses on building positive relationships with clients to understand their concerns and translate the impact of food on other aspects of their health that are important to them, such as maintaining independence in activities of daily living. Uki enjoys empowering teams to support their residents and make the most of what is available to create menus that are both delicious and nutritionally adequate.

Uki is an Accredited Practising Dietitian and Accredited Exercise Scientist. She graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Exercise and Sports Science) and Master of Nutrition and Dietetics. In her spare time, Uki enjoys baking and cooking, playing the piano, and enjoying a game of basketball and netball.
