maddison

Maddison is an compassionate member of Optimum Intake’s Residential Aged Care team. She provides considerate, respectful and engaging nutritional care to improve the quality of life of older Australians residing in aged care facilities. She is focused on optimising the food, nutrition and the mealtime experience. With years of volunteering within aged care facilities, Maddison fostered her collaborative nature in delivering supports based on trust and kindness with older people, collaborating with care staff, food service staff, families and catering to all dietary requirements.

She is a strong advocate for meals being more than simply food on a plate, she knows food can be more meaningful than just the nutritional quality alone, it can promote social connectedness, lift a person’s mood by igniting memories of years gone past and much more.

Maddison supports each consumer to exercise choice and independence, including make decisions about their own care and the way care and services are delivered and make decisions about when family, friends, carers or others should be involved in their care. She considers the functional ability of consumers when assessing and planning nutrition interventions to optimise independence. Delivering safe and effective services and supports for everyday living that optimise the consumer’s independence, health, well-being, and quality of life.

Maddison is an Accredited Practising Dietitian and a member of Dietitians Australia. Maddison graduated from the University of Wollongong in Nutrition Science and a Master of Nutrition and Dietetics and joined the Optimum Intake team in 2021.
Maddison looks forward to building a supportive relationship with Aged Care Facilities and the local community, to achieve optimal health and wellbeing for her clients.
