Katie is a caring and attentive member of the Optimum Intake Aged Care Team. She is an APD who strives to provide client centred , evidenced based nutrition care for individuals living independently at home and for those living in Residential aged Care Facilities.

Katie has experience working in the aged care sector, both in the community setting and Residential Aged Care Facilities, therefore understands the importance of food and mealtimes contributing to quality of life and meeting social and physical needs. She has a keen interest and passion for working alongside facility staff to empower and motivate them to provide quality nutrition through their menu’s and mealtime experiences.

Katie is passionate about building strong relationships with patients, their families and/or carers to achieve the best possible health outcomes through nutrition. Working in partnership with the patients and families allows an individualised approach which contributes to providing the best possible health outcomes.

Katie graduated from the University of Newcastle, 1997, and has had experience working in a variety of settings including, hospital, community, public health , and with a variety of clients of all ages, however has found her passion, working in the aged care setting.
