Kaila Ronan BA N&D(Hons)
Dietitian
Kaila is a warm, personable and dedicated Accredited Practising Dietitian working across the Community Aged Care Team and Adult Clinics Team at Optimum Intake Dietitians. She provides personalised, evidence-based nutrition support to clients in both home and clinic settings, delivering services through the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP), Support at Home, and private consultations.
Kaila is passionate about helping clients feel understood, informed and empowered to make realistic, sustainable changes that support their long-term health. Her approach focuses on building practical skills and confidence, so clients feel equipped to make their own nutrition decisions well beyond their appointments.
Rather than relying on rigid meal plans, Kaila works collaboratively with clients to develop flexible, personalised nutrition strategies that fit into real life. She supports clients to understand the “why” behind their nutrition, helping them build lifelong habits that can adapt to changing routines, preferences and health needs.
Kaila has a strong interest in chronic disease management and women’s health. She enjoys supporting clients with a range of conditions including diabetes, high cholesterol, cardiovascular disease, kidney disease, PCOS, and navigating nutrition through menopause.
Through her work in community aged care, Kaila recognises the important role nutrition plays in maintaining strength, independence and quality of life. She values working closely with clients and their support networks to create practical, meaningful strategies that support everyday living.
At Optimum Intake, Kaila guides clients through a personalised Nutrition Action Plan. This begins with a thorough and supportive assessment to understand each person’s unique circumstances, followed by ongoing review sessions focused on skill-building, problem-solving and adapting strategies over time. This structured yet flexible approach helps clients stay supported, build momentum and achieve lasting change.
Kaila understands that food is about far more than nutrients alone. It is closely linked with enjoyment, culture, emotional wellbeing and social connection. She incorporates a client-centred approach, drawing on Health at Every Size® and non-diet principles where appropriate to support a more balanced relationship with food.
Kaila graduated with a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics (Honours) from the University of Newcastle. She is an Accredited Practising Dietitian and a member of Dietitians Australia.
Outside of work, Kaila enjoys playing tennis, teaching reformer Pilates, travelling, and exploring new foods and cafés.
Having grown up in a coastal town, she loves spending time by the beach with family and friends, often with a coffee or sweet treat in hand.
Kaila looks forward to supporting clients to improve their health, confidence and overall wellbeing through practical, personalised nutrition care.
